Flora-Bama

17401 Perdido Key Drive, Pensacola, FL 32507  • Phone: 251-980-5118

Where might you see a bride-to-be at her bachelorette party, a state senator, Nashville songwriters, a colorful local or two AND, we might add, some of the best regional singers and musicians in the South? That would be at the Florabama Lounge or as USA Today writes ” the last great American roadhouse”.  After surviving Hurricane Ivan, the “Bama” came  back strong, adding a two tier air conditioned stage. The Florabama is still home to the world famous Mullet Toss (that would be the fish, not men with a 80’s hairstyle) and home base to the Songwriter’s Festival that brings Grammy winning songwriters to the Gulf coast for seminars and some picking and playing.

The Hangout

101 East Beach Blvd., Gulf Shores, AL  36542  • Phone: 251-948-3030

Hang loose at the Hangout. The Hangout was “the place to be” in the 50’s and 60’s and with new investors (that include some of the original surfer dudes) the Hangout is once again one of “the places to be” on Pleasure Island.  The Hangout gained national attention with the May Hangout Music Festival featuring acts such as Tom Petty, Stevie Wonder, The Roots, Kings of Leon and Public Enemy….a little something for everyone. There’s always  something going on from a Halloween bash to Labor Day celebrations.

Lulu’s at Homeport

200 East 25th Avenue, Gulf Shores, AL  36542  • Phone: 251-967-5858

There’s always something laid back and fun to do at Lulu’s. What else would you expect from the sister of Jimmy Buffet? But be assured that Lulu’s is all about Lucy Buffett. She’s the author of cookbooks, had a boat named after her that was then promptly sunk (that’s another story), and offers up local and regional musical acts for your enjoyment. This year she is offering the 1st Annual Crazy Sista Beach Party, an event for “crazy sistas and the men who love them” featuring…you guessed it…crazy lady musicians. Fun for the entire family. You should check it out whenever you visit, cause like the song says, “It’s five o’clock somewhere”.
